This Privacy Policy describes the types of information WMC Global collects from and about you when you visit our website, www.spamresponse.com (the “Site”), or use our SpamResponse mobile application (together, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy also explains how we may use or share such information. By using the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not, please do not use the Services. For residents from the European Economic Area, WMC Global is the data controller responsible for your information.

INFORMATION COLLECTION

  • Information You Provide

Since our Services are intended to help prevent unwanted spam, we try to limit our collection of information through the Services. We will collect information from you on the Services when you choose to share it with us. This may include when you request information from us, submit a spam report, or otherwise choose to contact us. If you decline to provide any of the requested or required information, you may not be able to take full advantage of the Services and their features.

You may also authorize our mobile application to access your contacts in order to filter messages that you received from your contents and to distinguish those messages from spam messages. You may disable this access at any time.

We may combine the information we receive from and about you, including information you provide to us and information we automatically collect through our Services, as well as information collected from other online sources or from third-party sources to help us improve our Services and prevent unwanted spam.

WMC Global may use the information we collect from and about you for various purposes, such as to provide services, improve customer experience and engagement, and develop the Services. We will have a lawful basis for processing your information if:

INFORMATION SHARING

WMC Global does not disclose personal information collected through the Services to any third parties for their direct marketing purposes. WMC Global may disclose the information we collect from and about you in the following ways:

  • Affiliates: We may share your information with our affiliated companies, some of which do not share the same brand name as us (for example, Media Thirst). This sharing is done for investigation purposes and to help us prevent unwanted spam.

  • Service Providers: We may share your information with our third-party service providers that provide business, professional, or technical support functions for us;

  • Legal Obligations; Safety: We may share your information as necessary if we believe that there has been a violation of the Terms of Use or of our rights or the rights of any third party. We may also disclose your information, in any country in which we operate, to respond to judicial process or provide information to law enforcement or regulatory agencies or in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety, as permitted by law, or otherwise as required by law;

  • Aggregate or Anonymous Information: WMC Global may also share aggregate or anonymous information with mobile carriers, internet service providers, or other third parties as appropriate for the purpose of helping to prevent unwanted spam;

  • Sale or Transfer of Business Assets: WMC Global may sell or purchase assets during the normal course of our business. If another entity acquires us or any of our assets, information we have collected about you may be transferred to such entity. In addition, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, such information may be considered an asset of ours and may be sold or transferred to third parties. Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to try to require that the transferee use the information collected through the Services in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy; and

  • Other: We also may share your information as described to you at the point of collection.

THIRD-PARTY CONTENT, LINKS, AND PLUG-INS

The Services may have links to third-party websites or resources, which may have privacy policies that differ from our own. We are not responsible for the practices of such websites or resources.

The Services may also offer you the ability to interact with social plugins from social media sites and apps, which may allow us and/or the social media site or app to receive data from or about you. In some cases, we may know that you clicked on a social plugin, such as a Twitter “Follow” button, or receive other information from the social media sites or apps. Similarly, if you have previously provided information to a third-party operating a plug-in on the Services, then such third-party may recognize you on the Services. Your use of social network plugins is subject to each social media site’s or app’s privacy policy, which may be different from ours, so please read these policies carefully to understand their policies and your options. As with linked sites or apps, we have no control over the information that is collected, stored, or used by social network plugins, and are not responsible for the practices of such sites or apps.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Protecting children’s privacy is important to us. We do not direct the Services to, nor do we knowingly collect any personal information from, children under the age of thirteen.

We have taken certain physical, administrative, and technical steps to safeguard the information we collect from and about you. While we make every effort to help ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee our security measures.

YOUR RIGHTS

If you are a resident of Australia, Canada, or the European Economic Area and would like to gain access to, update, erase, or restrict or withdraw any consent to the processing of certain information collected from and about you through the Services, please contact us at privacy@wmcglobal.com.

In addition, residents of the European Economic Area also have the right to object to the processing of such information and, in some instances, the right to request that we export, in a structured, commonly used, machine readable, and interoperable format, and transmit to another controller, such information.

DATA STORAGE AND TRANSFER

Our digital operations are conducted, in whole or in part, in the United States and Canada, where the data protection and other laws may differ from those in your country of residence. Regardless of where you live, you consent to have your information transferred to, and processed and stored in, the United States and Canada. Additionally, if you are a European Economic Area resident, you consent to the collection and use your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, in the absence of an adequacy decision or the appropriate safeguards set forth in Articles 45 and 46, respectively, of the General Data Protection Regulation.
